Senators’ Zibanejad completes natural hat trick in 2 minutes, 38 seconds

Two minutes, 38 seconds.

Mika Zibanejad's first career hat trick Saturday in Calgary stands as the fastest in the history of the Ottawa Senators.

His feat, which also lifted the Senators to a comeback win over the Flames, obliterates the previous mark held by Marian Hossa, who turned the trick in just a little over seven minutes back in 2003.

The natural hat trick also saw him become the first Senators players to score three straight since Jason Spezza in October of 2013.

The fastest trifecta in league history, by the way, belongs to Bill Mosienko, who scored three goals in 21 seconds in 1952.
