Report: NHL working on puck-tracking technology to right controversial calls

The NHL is hoping to put an end to controversial goal calls.

The NHL is currently working on puck-tracking technology in an attempt to aid the video review process, according to TSN's Darren Dreger.

Dreger added that exact details of the technology are unknown, noting the idea of a chip in pucks, but that the league is working on the issue. Sources have also told Dreger that there has been some on-ice testing, but that the technology is not believed to be game-ready.

Huge controversy arose during Thursday's game between the Boston Bruins and Florida Panthers where Bruins forward Patrice Bergeron appeared to have scored only to have his goal waved off after it was deemed to be inconclusive.
