Jonas Hiller returns to Switzerland, signs 3-year deal with EHC Biel

Jonas Hiller's headed home.

The veteran netminder signed a three-year contract with Switzerland National A outfit EHC Biel, ending his nine-year professional run in North America before testing the unrestricted free-agent market this summer.

Hiller had an ugly final NHL season, stopping pucks at an .879 clip and winning 11 times in 26 appearances for the lottery-bound Calgary Flames. But the 34-year-old did string together some quality seasons over the course of a seven-year run with the Anaheim Ducks, winning 162 times in 307 starts before signing with Calgary in 2014.

He began his professional career in the Swiss league with HC Davos in 2001, spending five seasons there.
