The NHL trade deadline is just two days away, and things are getting more serious. There have already been trades over the last several days, but the Buffalo Sabres have yet to join in the action. However, with the Sabres being at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings and open to making moves, that could change shortly.

The Buffalo Sabres 4-3 overtime loss to Montreal on Monday was their third in a row, but for a club in last place and 12 points out of the final Eastern Conference playoff spot, another defeat serves only as another step towards a 14th straight season outside of the playoffs.

The Buffalo Sabres could be the most talked-about team in terms of players being on the move prior to the NHL trade deadline, but whether anything comes to fruition will be up to the quality of offers GM Kevyn Adams receives before 3 pm Friday.
