The Nashville Predators announced Friday morning that defenseman Jake Livingstone and forward Kieffer Bellows have been recalled from the AHL's Milwaukee Admirals.
Kevin Lankinen debuted in the NHL for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2020-21 and was the starter as a 25-year-old rookie. He had a solid season and played one more season for the Blackhawks after that. Now Chicago's former goalie has signed a five-year, $4.5 million AAV contract with the Vancouver Canucks.
On Friday morning, the Vancouver Canucks announced that they had signed goaltender Kevin Lankinen to a five-year extension worth $22.5 million. The new contract will keep the Finnish goaltender in Vancouver until 2030 and will carry an AAV of $4.5 million. As for his age, Lankinen will be 30 when the contract kicks in and 35 when it concludes.
The Buffalo Sabres currently sport a 22-27-5 record and are at the bottom of the Eastern Conference standings. With this, it is possible that they could end up trading some of their pending unrestricted free agents before the NHL Trade Deadline passes.
