Welcome Canucks fans to Canucks World .com! Canucks World is a website that looks at the Vancouver Canucks from the fans prospective. I have been an avid follower of the Vancouver Canucks since I was a very small child, more than 30 years and I just can’t get enough.

During this time as a Canucks fan it has been an emotional roller coaster. The early years the Canucks were a lunch bucket team who were the door mats for teams like the Edmonton Oilers and the Calgary Flames. In the late 80’s and early 90’s the team started to turn the corner towards becoming more skilful and competitive, though much of the success was probably due to the unravelling of the Oilers and Flames. In the late 90’s the Canucks and their fans started to have expectations which was great! Not only did we start icing competitive teams we actually started to believe that we could win the Stanley Cup and expected to compete each and every year.

Though the Canucks have had many up and down seasons over the last 10 years, we as Canucks fans have been fortunate to have teams iced that have been competitive almost each and every night. The Vancouver Canucks have finally developed a culture of winning and with luck; we will eventually hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup.

Call me an optimist, say what you will, this latest Canucks team has the potential to build towards our ultimate dream…

The Vancouver Canucks are members of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL).

Vancouver is home to a state of the art facility General Motors Place which recently upgraded the Canuck dressing room and is the envy of the entire NHL.

The Vancouver Canucks joined the NHL in 1970 as an expansion team along with the Buffalo Sabres (the 13th and 14th teams to join). Though the Canucks haven’t won the Stanley Cup, the team has advanced twice to the Stanley Cup Finals but lost both times (to the New York Islanders in 1982 and the New York Rangers in 1994).
