Blues’ Ott diagnosed with colitis, to be re-evaluated in 2 weeks

It appeared Steve Ott was finally nearing a return to the lineup for the first time since injuring both hamstrings after sliding into the boards on Dec. 5, but a separate ailment will keep him off the ice even longer.

The St. Louis Blues announced Wednesday that the forward was diagnosed with colitis (inflammation of the lining of the colon) and will be re-evaluated in two weeks.

Ott has missed the Blues' last 53 games since undergoing surgery to repair both hamstrings, and had just returned to practice in March.

He has two assists in 21 games this season.
