Ducks’ Cogliano suspended 2 games for hit on Kings’ Kempe

Anaheim Ducks forward Andrew Cogliano was handed a two-game suspension Sunday for his hit on Los Angles Kings forward Adrian Kempe, the NHL Department of Player Safety announced.

Cogliano caught Kempe with a hit to the head in the first period Saturday night and was assessed a two-minute minor for interference, as the puck had clearly left Kempe's possession when Cogliano laid the high hit.

The suspension will end Cogliano's consecutive games played streak at 830, the fourth-longest iron man streak in NHL history.
