Capitals’ Orlov to have hearing for kneeing Jets’ Ehlers

Washington Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov will have a hearing Wednesday for kneeing Winnipeg Jets forward Nikolaj Ehlers during Tuesday's contest, the NHL's Department of Player Safety announced.

Orlov delivered a knee-on-knee hit late in the third period. The incident didn't result in a penalty.

Jets interim head coach Dave Lowry said postgame that Ehlers will miss Winnipeg's contest Thursday and will likely be out much longer, according to the Winnipeg Free Press' Mike McIntyre.

Ehlers has 13 goals and 12 assists in 34 games this season. Orlov has 19 points in 38 contests.
